As part of its objectives to increase public awareness on environmental issues, Qatar International Environment protection exhibition (EcoQ) has joined the list of supporters of the 'Green Tent' - a cultural and social Ramadan gathering organized annually by Friends of the Environment Center.
Current sponsors of the tent include Qatar Petroleum and 'Doha Capital of Arab Culture 2010'. EcoQ, taking place on 17-19 September 2011, will showcase environment protection technologies, products and Sustainable energy solutions as the organizers, Stallion Advertising and Exhibitions, are planning to attract international, regional and local companies, organizations and institutions to this unique green tech event in Qatar.
This Ramadan, the Green Tent has adopted the theme 'Arabic Communities in Qatar and their contribution to Culture', hosting representatives from each Arabic community residing in Qatar to talk about cultural landmarks of each Arabic country, highlighting their contribution to human and Arabic civilization.
H.E.Sheikh Hassan Bin Mohamed Bin Ali Al Thani, Advisor of Cultural Affairs - Qatar Foundation for Education, Honorary Chairman for Friends of the Environment, and Honorary Chairman of EcoQ advisory Committee, stressed on the importance of communicating among all segments and sectors of the society in order to enrich experiences and to encourage positive initiatives: "The Green Tent has become an important and significant Ramadan activity associated with Friends of the Environment Center. We are pleased to host the Arab communities in Qatar to highlight the contribution of countries they represent in Arabic culture as part of our celebration of Doha Capital of Arab Culture 2010."
Sheikh Hassan added, "Qatar National vision 2030 is reflected in our planning and thoughts, and we are inspired by the leading role-model of HH.the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani". "We strive to strengthen the culture of protecting the environment and we encourage efforts aiming to contribute to this goal," he added.
From his side, Dr. Saif Al Hajari, Vice Chairperson, Qatar Foundation, Chairman of Friends of the Environment, and Head of Consulting Committee, EcoQ, expressed his appreciation to all supporters and guests of the Green Tent this Ramadan, explaining the center's dedication to adopt new themes and ideas every year: "The idea of the Green Tent is about cultural enrichment and social interaction, as the Tent's guests discuss topics and issues concerning the community including the environment."
Al Hajari added, "Culture, Place and humans are the basic components of the environment as a concept at large. We are pleased to see such strong participation in our Green Tent this Ramadan and we extend our thanks to Qatar Petroleum and Doha Arabic Culture Capital 2010 for their continuous support."
